Chattanooga, Tennessee · Three distinct mural environments

THREE SPACES / ONE SENSE OF PLACE
Different expressions. One destination.
For Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga, three mural installations take distinct visual approaches while drawing from the same city. Rather than repeat a single style throughout the property, each artwork responds to the architecture, setting, and way guests encounter it.
The exterior artwork introduces Chattanooga through a graphic city map. The rooftop pool deck takes a more figurative, landscape-driven approach. Inside, the lobby shifts toward geometric botanical forms, where shape and rhythm become the primary design language.
01 / EXTERIOR
The city, mapped.
A graphic interpretation of Chattanooga connects the hotel’s exterior to its surrounding geography. The map-based design makes local identity an immediate part of the guest experience.

02 / ROOFTOP POOL
Landscape as atmosphere.
At the pool deck, a more figurative composition references Chattanooga’s landscape and bridge imagery. The artwork works with the outdoor setting, offering guests a visual connection to the place beyond the hotel.

03 / LOBBY
Built from shape.
The lobby takes a deliberately different direction. Geometric botanical forms and bold shapes bring an architectural rhythm to the interior, balancing expressive artwork with the room’s function as a shared gathering space.

THE DESIGN THINKING
One property. Three visual languages.
The unifying element is not a repeated image or palette, but an intentional relationship with Chattanooga. Each mural creates a different moment within the guest journey — an arrival, a rooftop experience, and an interior destination.
This approach allows hospitality artwork to complement the architecture and support a distinct sense of place.
